Dear Joy and family, I was so sorry to read your dad's funeral notice. Occasionally I surf through the Advocate obituary section and saw it there. As well my cousin, Garry Lawrence, of Sylvan Lake sent a copy to me. I remember your dad and mom from an early age. Both were amazingly happy people and enmeshed in the busy life of a large family. My father was always so pleased that your dad purchased "The Sloughs" and was doing so well with it. On the rare occasion when I returned to Pine Lake your father was always delighted to see me and greeted me with his hallmark laughter. It was an amazing laugh not just because it was loud but because it was so genuine. I loved that, and I often anticipated hearing it if I saw him.
