Mrs. Adelina Grande, beloved wife of Mr. Giacomo Grande of Red Deer, Alberta, was peacefully gathered into the arms of Our Lord Jesus and took her place in Heaven at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the age of 83 years. Adelina was born on March 27, 1934 in Colosimi, Cosenza, Italy. She married the love of her life, Giacomo Grande on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1952. The family immigrated to Canada in 1966 to be establish a new life. Adelina was passionate about her family and her home; she was an incredible cook and baker. Her delicious homemade bread was a treat for everyone to enjoy. Although Adelina is now at rest, she will be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed by her husband of sixty-five years, Giacomo Grande of Red Deer; her daughter, Maria (Shane) Mooney of Red Deer and three sons, Fausto (Doreen) Grande of Calgary, Ben (Cathy) Grande of Red Deer, and Marco (Jody) Grande, also of Calgary; seven grandchildren, Deseree, Venessa, Lisa, Marco, Adam, Noah and Jacob; and five great grandchildren, Meadow, Cooper, Mackenzie, Archer and Zaiden. She will also be sadly missed by two sisters, Franca (Ferdinando) Scavo of Red Deer and Sestilia Domanico of Italy; as well as numerous other family and dear friends. Prayers will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Jozef Wroblewski Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
