Obituary for Margaret Ethel "Marj" Perrin (Davis)

We Remember Mama,

You immediately noticed the softest brown eyes, Margaret or "Marj" was born in Windygates, Manitoba, during the depression. She overcame so much, was a role model: balanced a career but still dedicated her life to her family. Dad was mom's boss in the Officer's Mess ..... he adds, "it was the only time he was ever her boss!” Blessed to have been married for 66 years, they were our families’ inspiration. Her strong and intelligent spirit saw her dedicated to the care of others, working at "The Red Deer Hospital" and "Michener Centre." She loved to laugh, possessing a warm sense of humour, with a mischievous wink that would warm your heart while making you wonder what she was up to. Although Mom had many challenges in her life she faced them head on. She remained selfless and always put her family first. A "Purple Social Butterfly," mom loved to have fun creating her famous "Miss Piggy" character and was instrumental in creating the Social Club at Legacy Estates: organizing charity drives and was affectionately known as, "The Card Shark, Scrabble Queen and Crafty Lady!" Mom was lovingly cherished by her love of her life, husband Art; children, Janyce (Paul), Bruce (Kris), Murray (Shelley), Twyla (Bill) and Rick (Adrian); and nieces and nephews, numerous grand and great grandchildren. She was welcomed home by her son "Terry" and her precious granddaughter "Dani Nic." We will miss the softest hands that held ours and our hearts.

As your own personal Vince Gill sings, "Go Rest High Upon That Mountain."

A Celebration of Marj’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please honour Mom's memory with donations to her precious, "Children's Wish Foundation." Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Ashley Paton, Funeral Director at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
