Raymond "John"  Ferguson
Mr. Raymond ‘John’ Ferguson of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the age of 70 years. John was born in Dorking, England on February 16, 1944 and moved to Canada shortly after with his family. In 1954, he came to live at Alberta School Hospital (ASH Villas) until moving to Deerhome (Michener Services) in 1961. John participated in craft and vocational programs before settling into his retired lifestyle. He enjoyed music, dancing, making crafts, shopping and visiting with his family. John is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Goodhope, sisters, Cheryl (Howard) Knull, Linda (Mark Galenza) Kreamer, Brenda (Don) Marsh, sister-in-law, Pat Goodhope and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Mr. Manford Goodhope and brother, Patrick Goodhope. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and caregivers at the Michener Centre, including special friends, Sharon Gustofson and Lorna McGee. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at the Roland Michener Recreation Centre Theatre, Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
