Obituary for Theresa Pearl Anholt (Burke)

Theresa Pearl Anholt (Burke)
ANHOLT, Theresa
1957 – 2014

Our hearts are deeply saddened as we announce the passing of Theresa Pearl Burke Anholt of Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the age of 57 years. Theresa was born on January 13, 1957 at Joggins, Nova Scotia. After the passing of her biological parents, she was raised by Elwood and Margaret Murphy. Theresa moved to Alberta in the early 1980’s and soon after met Garth Anholt at Grande Cache, Alberta. She studied nursing at Calgary, Alberta and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1982. For her first year of Nursing, Theresa worked at Lac La Biche, Alberta before moving to Strathmore, Alberta. There she worked at the Strathmore Hospital. In 1986, she married Garth in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and the couple lived the first years of their married life in Gleichen, Alberta. Eventually, they moved to Red Deer in 1988, where they raised their family; Joel, Layne and Taylor. Theresa worked in various Clinical Areas in the Health Region until 1999, when Garth’s transfer took them to Hinton, Alberta. There she worked at the Hinton Hospital. After a short transfer to Swan Hills, they returned to Red Deer. Theresa continued her Nursing Career from that time until the time of her passing. Her passion was patient care. Theresa was interested in people’s stories and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She was well known for having the answer for – or the solution to everyone’s problems; and loved taking the time to tell people what those answers were! Theresa was fiercely protective and loyal toward her family and friends. She was a woman of faith and believed that when this time came she would be welcomed into Heaven. Theresa will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered in the hearts of her dear family and devoted friends.
“Our Beloved Theresa has risen high on her wings of Gold”
Theresa leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband, Garth, her children, Staci, Joel (Valerie), Layne and Taylor and her beloved granddaughters, Zoe and Ivy. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Elizabeth of Kitchener, Ontario and her brother, Jim Burke of Amherst, Nova Scotia; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of dear friends. A Celebration of Theresa’s Life will be held at the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd., Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Theresa’s honor may be made directly to a Charity of the donor’s choice.
