Mrs. Marthamma Vunnava of Red Deer, formerly of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Marthamma was born on July 10, 1925 at Narsaraopet, India. She was the second child of Pastor Solomon and Mrs. Jenny Turaka. Marthamma received her education in Narsaraopet, India. She married Mr. Luther Samuel Vunnava in Tenali, India. This union blessed them with a daughter, Indira and she guided her child in God. Marthamma sadly lost her husband at a young age. After the birth of her first grandchild, Manju, Marthamma stopped working in Kugler Hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. She then moved to Nuzvid, India where she lived with her children, Indira and Carey. Marthamma loved taking care of her grandchildren, Manju Raveena, Bobby Manoj and Meena Jenny. She moved to Canada in 1990, then returned to India in 1995 and finally moved back to Canada in 2004, where she lived comfortably with her daughter and son-in-law until she took her last breath and passed away, as she was called to rest by the Almighty. Marthamma leaves to mourn her daughter, Indira and her husband, Carey Enjati of Red Deer, her grandchildren, Manju (Richard) Seeger, Manoj Enjati and Meena (Jeff) Goalen and her great grandchildren, Aushon Samuel Goalen and Naiomi Barbara Seeger, all of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as one sister, Mary Ananda Rao and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Luther Samuel Vunnava, two sisters and a brother. A Funeral Service will be held at the Red Deer Seventh Day Adventist Church, Range Road 274B and MacKenzie Road, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ian Hartley officiating. Interment will follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
