It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Verna Bell Barnes (nee Parranto) in Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Verna was born in Edmonton, Alberta on November 18, 1929 to Elda and Violet Parranto. She was raised in Thorhild, Alberta; where her parents were pioneers. It was there she met her husband, Victor, with whom she raised four children. Verna will lovingly be remembered by four children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Verna was predeceased by her husband, Victor and a brother, Kenneth. She will be missed by all, especially her very special friend, Dennis. No Funeral Service will be held, and the family would ask that those whose lives were touched by Verna remember her in their own special way. If desired, Memorial Donations in Verna’s honor may be made directly to a charity of your choice.
