The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doreen Bauer can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Mum, You taught me to read and write before I got to school You taught me filling your brother’s school shoes with water isn’t a good thing You taught me that swallowing a thrupenny isn’t how to save money You taught me getting my head stuck in the railings outside the hospital after visiting Ian is not good for your blood pressure or the fire brigade! You taught me how to remove wine labels from bottles and stick to the cover of my project folder at college (age 15!) Many a funny story was behind those labels shared by you, Jess, Julie, Lorna, Lorraine, Lindy and all the expats who became life-long friends You taught me self respect and for others You gave me the tools for life... although I’m still pretty useless with a screwdriver, better with a pair of marigolds! Love always x
