Obituary for Robert Joseph Ebl

Robert Joseph Ebl
Mr. Robert Joseph Ebl of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 62 years. Robert was born December 16, 1955 at Eckville, Alberta, and grew up on the family farm at Evergreen, Alberta. He was easy going and a hard worker; helping with milking and feeding cows, tending a huge garden, handling lumber, and other chores. He enjoyed fishing and motor biking in his spare time. Robert graduated from David Thompson High School in 1974 and went to work for the CNR in Eckville. Things were becoming more difficult for him, though, and within a few years it was impossible to ignore his struggles with Schizophrenia. Robert spent the remainder of his adult life in a variety of Group Homes and other Residential Facilities. For the past seven years, he was under the excellent supervision of the caring and compassionate staff at Extendicare Michener Hill. Robert was a gentle soul, and will truly be missed. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Joe and Jessie Ebl, brothers, David (Barb) Ebl and Patrick (Marian) Ebl; and nieces, Sara and Amy. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at the Evergreen Community Hall, Condor, Alberta on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Russ Howard officiating. Memorial Donations in Robert’s honour may be made directly to the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta at www. schizophrenia.ab.ca or to the Canadian Mental Health Association at www.reddeer.cmha.ca . Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040 or 1.800.481.7421.
