Obituary for Walter Woytkiw

Walter Woytkiw
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. On Sunday December 24, 2017 at the age of 79, Walter passed away peacefully with family by his side. Walter was born near Arran, Saskatchewan on March 27, 1938 to Bill and Ann Woytkiw. He attended school at Evadale, Saskatchewan and spent most of his young life farming. In 1967, Walter met the love of his life, Sandra Gouldsbra. They were married on June 8, 1968 in Benito, Manitoba, where they made their home. Arrival of their three girls Cathy, Karen and Tracy made their lives complete. Walter worked for the village of Benito for 10 years. In 1978, another job offer took them to Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan. From there, they moved to Czar, Alberta where he worked for two years. He accepted a job for the village of Consort in 1981, and lived there until his retirement in 2002. Walter was very dedicated to his job, always giving 100%. He enjoyed visiting with the people and knew the town like the back of his hand. In his downtime, Walter enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Walter and Sandra moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 2006. He leaves to mourn his wife Sandra of forty-nine years, daughters Cathy (Brent), Karen (Lloyd), Tracy (Bill), grandchildren Ashley (Keith), Amanda (James), Brittney (Aaron), Brandon, Shaylynn, Selena, Breanna, Gage, Justus, eleven great grandchildren, brothers Orest (Marcella), Pete, sisters Mary and Rosie, sisters in law Linda (Ed), Judy, Norma and brother in law Doug (Fran). He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Ann Woytikiw, parents in law George and Helen Gouldsbra, brothers Mike, Alex, Mervin and sisters in law Terry and Margaret. It was Walter’s final wishes to be remembered in a private family gathering at a later date.
