Obituary for Herbert Spatz

Herbert Spatz
On Thursday, November 23, 2017, Herbert “Chance” Spatz passed away peacefully at his home in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 58 years. Herb was a trusting and kind soul, who happily opened his heart and his home to anyone and everyone, no questions asked. His kindness was genuine and his sincerity couldn’t be matched. Herb had a love for the guitar, and even with only nine and a half fingers, could rock a twelve string like it was what he was born to do. He was a writer, a poet and a collector. He was a spiritual man, who had a great respect for nature and the outdoors. He was a father, a brother, and a friend to all. Herb’s warm heart and contagious smile will not soon be forgotten, but will forever be missed. Herbert will be lovingly remembered by his five children, Courtney (Travis) Rieder, Julie Spatz (Shane), Kristen Spatz (Tyson), Warren Spatz and Shannon Spatz (Bryan), brother, Alfred (Linda) Spatz, as well as twelve grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and close friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Eduard and Hedwig Spatz and his sister, Gretal Tchida (Pat). Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
