Obituary for James Bertram "Jim" Stuve

Mr. James Bertram ‘Jim’ Stuve of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Jim was born on September 23, 1935 at Camrose, Alberta. He grew up on a farm in the Edberg area. After high school, Jim left the farm and moved to Camrose where he worked at Builders Hardware and Dabbs Furniture. Jim married Herta Majeski on December 12, 1956 in Camrose and they moved to Red Deer in 1964 when he joined Sims Furniture. He was a long standing employee of Sims Furniture for almost fifty years. Jim was also a founding member of the Central Alberta Vintage Auto Club (CAVAC) in 1965, and was an active member until his passing. His favorite activities included farming, restoring antique cars and tractors, working in his garage, travelling, dancing, and watching his grandchildren in various sports and dance activities. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Herta Stuve of Red Deer; his two sons and daughter in laws, Ross Stuve and Melanie Stuve of Red Deer and Douglas and Karen Stuve of Calgary; his five grandchildren, Cassandra (Jason) Sommerfeld of Blackfalds, Malisha and Carson Stuve of Red Deer, Hannah and Grace Stuve of Calgary; and one great grandson, Hartley Sommerfeld. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Allen (Donna) Stuve of Edson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Bertram and Avis Stuve and his stepmother, Mary. We will always love you Jim. A Funeral Service will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Boulevard, Red Deer, on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Hennig officiating. A Private Family Interment will take place before the service.
