1954 – 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. George Richard “Rick” Wallin on Monday, May 22, 2017, in the County of Red Deer, at the age of 62 years. Rick was born in Toronto, Ontario on September 8, 1954 to parents George and Jessie Wallin. He attended school in Toronto; where he made many lifelong friends, and excelled at football, rugby and singing. In 1978, Rick moved to Alberta; where he spent the majority of his adult life working in the oilfield. He was a longtime employee of Precision Well Services and served as Rig Manager for the last twenty years. Rick will always be remembered for his laugh, smile, love of sports, and his deep love for his family and friends. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his; wife, Kyoko; sons, Chris (Angela), Todd (Michelle), Dustin (Katie), James, Kane and Rhys; and grandchildren, Nikolas, Eli, Gavin and Madelynn. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Donna (Ron), Valerie and Arlene (Dave); nieces and nephews, Todd, Kristen, Brett, Jessie, Irene and David; his father-in-law, Rod (Fusako); brother-in-law, Tad (Deb); nephews, Morgan and Grayson; sister-in-law Mariko and the countless friends and co-workers whose lives he touched. Rick was predeceased by a daughter, Brandi. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Rick’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Concussion Centre, www.tgwhfonline.ca/solveconcussions/support.html.
