Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Margaret Cope can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Margaret Jeanne Cope (McCann)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing Margaret Jeanne Cope of Red Deer, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the age of 80 years. Jeanne was born on August 4, 1936 at Red Deer, Alberta. Soon after, she moved to Edmonton where she grew up. Years later, Jeanne went on to achieve her Degree in Psychology, at the University of Calgary. Ever the avid learner, Jeanne became interested in art and painting and attended the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. Later in life, the Lord called her and she became a Lay Minister for the United Church in the Province of Saskatchewan. After many years, she yearned to return to Red Deer; where she continued her education in the fine arts; as well as assisting in the teaching of them. Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Ella McCann; and her sister, Kathryn McCann of Faro, Yukon; her two daughters, Alux Irene Cope and Susan Ella Cope-Curtis; granddaughters, Jenny and Christine; and great granddaughters Natalie and Isabelle.
