Obituary for Shirley Ann Zachow (Stout)

Shirley Ann Zachow (Stout)
ZACHOW, Shirley
November 4, 1935 – May 5, 2017
It is with sad acceptance, and hearts full of love, that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Shirley Ann Zachow (nee Stout) of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Shirley was born and raised at High River, Alberta. Once married, she became a military wife, living at Cold Lake, Alberta, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Germany. Bruce and Shirley eventually settled in Red Deer when they became successful entrepreneurs, owning and operating Red Deer’s very first Tim Horton’s. In her spare time Shirley enjoyed sewing, baking, was an avid reader and she loved gardening. Her fire-cracker spirit and vibrant red hair left an impression on all who met her. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tracy Zachow of Red Deer, Alberta, Scott (Jan) Zachow of Port Alberni, British Columbia; grandchildren, Kealy (Justin), Dylan, and Tyler (Amber); and great grandchildren, Noah and Everett. Shirley will also be sadly missed by her brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of thirty-nice years, Bruce. Shirley’s family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care of Dr. Kruger, Dr. Taiwo, and the nurses and staff of Unit 31 for their compassionate care. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Shirley’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation at www.rdrhfoundation.com/donate-now.
