Ruby was born on March 24, 1923 at Derbyshire, England. Ruby grew up in the Shadynook area and had kept ties with friends and classmates into her nineties. She raised her sons with her husband, Bruce in Calgary, Alberta; where she was involved with Daughters of the Nile and The Order of the Eastern Star. Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Greg Simpson and Jim (Melanie) Simpson; grandchildren, Abbey, Michael, Melanie, Stephanie and Nicole; and a great granddaughter, Amelia. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Bill Jones of Ontario; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Alydia Jones and a sister, Lucy, as well as her husband, Bruce Simpson. The family would like to thank the staff of CollegeSide Gardens and especially Villa Marie for the wonderful care they gave mom in her elder years.
