Obituary for Rose Margaret Fox

Rose Margaret Fox
FOX, Rose Margaret
1925 – 2017
It is with sad acceptance and hearts full of love, that we announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, Mrs. Rose Margaret Fox at Covenant Care, Villa Marie, Red Deer on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Mom was born in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan to Anna and Joseph Flaman. Mom’s early life was spent in the Vibank and Goodsoil Districts of Saskatchewan, later moving to the Great Bend District, east of Red Deer; where she raised her six children. From 1980 until 1992, she worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Michener Centre. Mom was active through the years and thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills. She loved gardening, singing and dancing and travelled across Canada, from coast to coast by motor-home. Besides raising her six children, her proudest accomplishment was, after spending thousands and thousands of hours, crocheting the Lord’s Last Supper picture. Mom moved to the Covenant Care, Villa Marie in 2014, and enjoyed her new friends and the warm environment of her home; where she resided until her passing. Rose leaves to mourn her six children, Lorne (Carol) Fox of Lousana, Alberta, David (Phyllis) Fox of Delburne, Alberta, Louise (LaRue) Smith of Delburne, Beverly (John) Harris of Prince George, British Columbia, Herbert (Barbara) Fox of Bashaw, Alberta and Roxy (Dave) Zimmer of Red Deer; eighteen grandchildren and over thirty great grandchildren. She is also sadly missed by her friend Harvey Scott of Red Deer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Our deepest appreciation to the compassionate staff of Covenant Care, Villa Marie, whose amazing care of our Mom was instrumental in her comfort right up to the end. Mom was treated with the utmost dignity and consideration; and we are so very grateful to the entire team of professionals at Villa Marie. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Jozef Wroblewski celebrant. Interment will be held at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. In Rose’s honour, Memorial Donations may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta at www.alzheimer.ca/ab.
