Obituary for Donna Arlene Jackson

Heaven received noise complaints when Donna Jackson joined the party on the evening of Saturday, March 11, 2017, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Donna’s introduction to the world on April 25, 1967 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia set the stage for an incredible journey; that her friends and family will forever cherish. Raised in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Donna created lifelong friendships and memories that are treasured by so many. Her graduation caption said “Let me drive!!” And drive she did! You would find Donna windows down, stereo cranked and tires smokin’. She took her drive to Penticton where she welcomed her daughter, Kandis in 1987 and son, Kodie in 1988. Donna met the love of her life, Jay, in Penticton, where she left an imprint on paper, and his heart. Together they welcomed daughter, Kylie in 1997 and made the move to Naramata, British Columbia. With her guest list complete, Donna celebrated her family and friends by being independent, strong willed, free spirited, fun loving, and always, the life of the party. She was a very caring and loving Mom; loved to cook; and was a very talented painter and decorator. Donna was the consummate practical joker. She had a special affinity for plants, mostly those of the “roll me one” kind. Her bon fires were legendary and Naramata is still recovering. After building lifelong friendships and partners in crime in Osoyoos, Penticton, and Naramata, Donna and Jay moved the party to Red Deer, Alberta; where Donna blazed in, looking for trouble and forging incredible friendships. Her Red Deer family embraced the Gypsy, and celebrated her much loved ‘Hump Day’ get togethers every week. Her laugh, presence, charisma and mischievous smile will be heartbreakingly missed by Kylie (Rob) Watson, Kodie Jackson, Kandis (Jason) Deitsch and her beloved grandchildren, Landon, Fayth, Janelle and twins, Zayden and Zachary. She will be forever remembered by her husband, Jay (Boog & Zen). Donna has joined her beloved dad, Bob and mom, Emma. Heaven will never be the same; she’s redecorated already and taken the keys. Look for circles in the clouds, that will be Donna doing donuts. Keep the tires smokin’ Donna. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
