Obituary for Cyle Playfair

Mr. Cyle Playfair of Eckville, Alberta, passed away near Eckville on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the age of 23 years. Cyle was born on Febuary 13, 1993 at Eckville, Alberta, where he was raised and received his schooling. He worked as a mechanic, truck driver and laborer for Derek and Sharon Moos, Hellbound, Demon Industries, and Ozzy’s Oilfield. Cyle enjoyed playing hockey, snowmobiling, quadding and camping. He loved the rodeo and excelled in bull riding; winning numerous buckles, chaps, and a saddle. He qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals two years in a row in Gallup, New Mexico. Cyle fought a lengthy battle against cancer, enduring numerous major surgeries. He always came out with a fighting attitude never willing to give up. Cyle will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Brian and Trudy Playfair of Eckville, Alberta; his siblings, Cameron (Jolene) of Eckville, Cory of Drumheller, Alberta, Cody (Wendy) of Leslieville, Alberta and Carrie (Collin) of Eckville,Curt of Eckville; as well as numerous other family and friends. Cyle was predeceased by his grandmother, Eileen Playfair in 1985, grandfather, John Playfair in 1981, grandmother, Helen Dyrland in 2012, and grandfather, Joeseph Dyrland in 1992. A Celebration of Cyle’s Life will be held at the Eckville Arena, 5312 – 51 Street, Eckville, Alberta on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
