Obituary for Marion Vanin (Borisinkoff)

Mrs. Marion Vanin, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Marion was born October 12, 1921 at Krydor, Saskatchewan and grew up in the Haralowka area of Saskatchewan. In 1946, Marion married George Vanin and the couple made their home at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for many years. They moved to Victoria, British Columbia in 1968; where they enjoyed their years together building wonderful memories for their family. Marion will be very deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her children, Judie (Jim) Vanin-Roth, Terri (Don) Diehl and Richard (Teresa) Vanin; her grandchildren, Shaunna Diehl Caplette, Tammy Diehl, Dana Diehl, Ed Hamel, Carmaine (Hamel) Hall, Carlene Vanin, Richard Vanin Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Cody Caplette, Carmen Caplette, Colton Loney, Curtis Hamel, Tyler Hamel, Jacob Hamel, Conner Hall, Kaleigh Hall, Bryce Diehl, Brynn Diehl, Brett Diehl, Jordan Dziadek, Brandon Tringham and Logan Tringham. She will also be sadly missed by a brother-in-law, Stuart Vanin and a sister-in-law, Jane Vanin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Vanin in 2008; her parents, Nick and Marisha Borisenkoff; brothers, Fred Borisenkoff, Nick Borisinkoff and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Borisinkoff, sister, Muriel and brother-in-law, Tony Zakshewski, a nephew, Bob Zakshewski; her mother and father-in-law, Mike and Stella Vanin; a sister-in-law, Lou Vanin and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Jean Vanin. A Private Family Gathering to celebrate Marion’s Life will be held. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Marion’s honor may be made directly to a charity of the donor’s choice.
