Obituary for Myrna Gail Edmunds

Myrna Gail Edmunds
Surrounded by her loving family, Myrna Gail Edmunds passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the age of 74 years. Myrna was born on July 19, 1940 at Bashaw, Alberta. After graduating High School, she attended Mount Royal College, then met the love of her life, Hank in 1959 and they were married on February 19, 1961. As they made their life together, they lived in Calgary, and then moved to Sylvan Lake, Alberta in 1973, where they settled and raised their three children. Myrna worked beside her loving husband, Hank, opening Big Country Tack Shop which later became Superior Harness and Saddlery, when they opened the store in Red Deer, Alberta. During their time in Sylvan Lake, Myrna worked delivering rural mail for fifteen years. Myrna loved to bake, and won best bread out of one hundred entries in Red Deer in the 1970’s. Among Myrna’s favorite things to do were riding horseback and along with that listening to country music. Grandview Stage in Rocky Mountain House held a few of her favorite artists that were close to her heart. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Hank; three children, Don (Colleen) Edmunds, Rob (Lori) Edmunds and Laurie Lavergne and seven grandchildren, Brittany, Kerry, Courtney, Megan, Tyler, Jason and Kristen. She will also be deeply missed her sister, Sharon (Bob) Hainsworth and a special sister-in-law, Edna (Eugene) Boutieller, several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Myrna was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Freda Traptow and a brother, Rodney Traptow. A Celebration of Myrna’s Life will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Myrna’s honor may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. at www.stars.ca.
